The Research On Environmental Regulation On Manufacturing Upgrades

Since the reform and opening up,Chinese economy has developed rapidly.However,the booming economic growth is at the cost of high capital investment,large energy consumption and more pollution emissions.The extensive growth mode not only consumes a large number of non renewable natural resources,but also causes serious damages on the ecological environment.Our country is in a critical period of upgrading manufacturing industry structure,which also faces the problems of economic development and environmental protection in the process of economic development.How to let China to avoid the road of "first pollution,after the governance" in the economic development,which becomes the urgent problem in the process of economic transformation.In this paper,the impact of environmental regulation on manufacturing structure optimization is studied as the main line.The paper also combines theory with empirical study on the effect of environmental regulation on the structure optimization of manufacturing industry in China.Firstly,the paper introduces the background,significance and research framework;and to sort researches on environmental regulation,manufacturing upgrades,and the relationship between them provides later study the premise of the theory;and it is this study logical starting point.Secondly,the paper describes the theory of environmental regulation,industrial upgrading,and focuses on the mechanism of environmental regulation in manufacturing upgrade.This paper also researches and analyzes the particular path of environmental regulation to promote manufacture,including entry barrier,technological innovation and foreign direct investments.Based on the theoretical analysis,the paper describes and analyzes the status of environmental regulation and manufacturing industry,and study on environmental regulation and manufacturing upgrades existing problems.Further by constructing panel data model,the paper analyzes empirically the environmental regulation on manufacturing structure.In this paper,we can draw the following conclusions through theoretical and empirical research: The intensity of environmental regulation has a significant positive effect on the structure of China's manufacturing industry.With the intensity of environmental regulation increases 1%,the manufacturing structure upgrade willIncrease by 1.75%.Entry barrier,technological innovation and foreign direct investments can promote the upgrading of manufacturing structure.From the perspective of regional differences,the effect of environmental regulation intensity of the central region on the promotion of manufacturing structure is the most obvious,the next is the the eastern region,the western region is the worst.
