The traditional Qinqiang opera is one of the important embodiments of the traditional Chinese culture and arts,particularly manifested in its dress and clothes.Qinqiang costumes are splendid and rich in contents and have a complete system.The dress and clothes of Qinqiang are complex,gorgeous and have diverse features in styles,colors,designs and other aspects.It plays a very important role in the stage performances,character building,plots and so on,and become an important form of Qinqiang opera.The style of traditional Qinqiang’s costume came into being in the late Ming Dynasty,since then it has already have a very stable and perfect behavior system with symbolic and stylized features.People can easily figure out who the character is and what his or her identity is,and also his or her status,occupation,and personality.There is more and more works of Chinese costume drama coming out in recent years,such as Legend of Mi Yue,Legend of Zhen Huan,the Step by Startling step and Nirvana in fire and all these dramas have a rapid spreading and great influences on society and people,and the costume of these works has become the focus of heated debates.Examining the costume of the Chinese costume drama,we find that the costume of the Chinese costume drama has the characteristics of realism from the style,color and pattern decoration.As an artistic symbol,the costume of the Chinese costume drama convey the cultural connotation,which has a semiotic,fuzzy-sounding function.Through the costumes of different characters,we can understand the historical life and deepen our understanding of historical culture.This Thesis uses the methods of case study and comparative study,which based on the theory of Semiotics and from the perspective of culture and aesthetic trying to compare the Qinqiang opera’s costume and the costume of the Chinese costume drama.This thesis illustrated the semiotic cultural significance and social significance by compare these two costumes from the style,color and pattern decoration.This thesis is divided into three parts.The first section introduces the theory of Semiotics.It expounds the profound spiritual connotation and cultural connotation of the artistic symbol.The second section introduces Qinqiang opera’s costume and the costume of the Chinese costume drama,and resolution as a whole the semiotic characteristics.The third section is the most important main bodyof this thesis,compare the form compositon and aesthetic characteristics of Qinqiang opera’s costume and the costume of the Chinese costume drama from the style,color and pattern decoration.As an artistic symbol,this thesis found that eventually these two costumes has similarities and differences,influence and reference.Furthermore,these two costumes can learn from each other and will improve themselves in the future and both of them will have a bright prospect in the future.
