| Opera is one of China’s traditional arts, with a wide range of local repertoire and a variety of performance forms, and is a highly integrated folk art.It incorporates not only folk dance, literature and music, but also folk crafts-opera costumes.Costume is both a necessity in human life and a carrier of cultural transmission, and to a certain extent it reflects the level of political, economic and cultural development of the time.On the basis of the costumes of the Ming Dynasty,Chinese opera costumes have fused the costume forms from the Tang Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, exaggerating and beautifying them while constantly refining and taking in the essence, forming the glorious and colourful Chinese opera costumes. As an important part of traditional Chinese opera culture, the study of Chinese opera costume patterns is conducive to its preservation and the promotion of the heritage of this excellent folk art. With the rapid development of society and technological advances, folk art activities are gradually decreasing, and although Han Opera was approved by the State Council in 2006 to be included in the first list of Intangible Cultural Heritage, the current situation of its transmission is still not optimistic. At present, the costumes of Chinese opera characters occupy a very important place in the study of Chinese opera, and their form and structure, fabrics, colours, patterns and decorative techniques all reveal distinctive character characteristics and local cultural connotations. This article uses a combination of documentary research, fieldwork and interviews to examine the costumes of Chinese opera in the collections of relevant units in Wuhan, with particular emphasis on the costume collection of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Centre of Wuhan Textile University.Firstly, the article firstly briefly describes the history and culture related to Chinese opera, and secondly, analyses the factors that influence the form of Chinese opera costumes;secondly, taking the form of Chinese opera costumes corresponding to the roles as the main representative, the article firstly divides Chinese opera troupe costumes into three major boxes, namely the big box,the second box and the third box,and discusses the form of the second box costumes.Thirdly,on the basis of exploring the aesthetic and design values of Chinese opera costumes,I will consider the innovation of modern women’s wear design by taking into account the current fashion trends;fourthly,on the basis of the previous research,I will carry out a series of comprehensive women’s wear design based on the form of Chinese opera costumes and Chinese opera culture.Through this research, the author hopes to provide a new source of material for contemporary costume design, and at the same time,to link and integrate traditional costume forms with contemporary fashion,so that they can both pass on the mission of intangible cultural heritage and meet the aesthetic and dressing needs of modern people. |
