Preparation Of Processed-palm Fiber And Its Study On Spinning Performance

Abstract/Summary:
The application of palm fiber was hindered in the field of spinning because of fiber line’ character like high density and rigidity even though it has the advantages of corrosion resistance,high elasticity and good warm.The optimal method of the processing fiber was obtained by improving the degumming process of the palm fiber which also can be used in the analysis of the spinnability index of process fiber.Here also analyze the quality of blended yarn got by spinning the mix palm and cotton fiber.In order to solve the problem that the degumming degree is difficult to control in alkali cooking method,the palm process fiber is prepared by adding auxiliaries in the process of degumming by alkali cooking after pretreatment.The optimal pretreatment scheme(treat the 0.06% concentration sulfuric acid at 80 ℃ for 30 min in the bath ratio of 1: 125)was obtained by analyzing the degumming rate,aggregation structure and thermal properties of the fibers pretreated by acid,oxidation and high temperature.Orthogonal test was adopt in obtaining the factors affecting the degumming are concentrations of sodium hydroxide and hydrogen peroxide,while in a certain range of temperature,bath ratio and time have slightly effect to the degumming results.Optimizing the fiber degumming by intermittent addition of hydrogen peroxide and additives prepared palm fiber whose fiber degumming rate was 51.82%,the process fiber content was 91.26% and the fineness was 5.3 tex indicating the optimization process can degum effectively and reduce the fiber fine.Characterize the composition,structure and spinnability to comprehensively analyze the performance of fiber.Decreasing the content of lignin from 38.00% to 10.31%,the content of cellulose will be increased from 27.15% to 59.35%,and the crystallinity will be increased from 37.26% to 58.35%.The longitudinal structure of the fiber is clear and the pectin is basically removed.The spinnability of palm process fiber was shown by analyzing the fineness,length uniformity,travel degree,breaking strength,initial modulus,moisture regain and so on.The established results showed that the palm fiber has a certain spinnability.The blend ratio was determined to be cotton/palm 70/30 and 90/10 after trial spinning.The 70/30 yarns with breaking strength of 31.68 cN/tex,overspun unevenness of 28.24%,hairiness 4.94,4680 snicks/km and 6420 nubs/km,indicating that the palm process fiber can improve the yarn strength,but the qualities need improved.The processed-palm fiber prepared in this paper can expand its application in the field of textile.
