| Polypropylene(PP)/Glass fiber needle-punched felt plays an important role in people’s daily life,with the PP/Glass fiber needle-punched felt application more and more widely,some problems also began to appear.As PP/Glass fiber needle-punched felt is a super-strong and lightweight material.In the condition of fire and heat,thermal decomposition of PP and resulting in fire hazards,it did not be applied to automobile industry,construction industry and other similar fields.Therefore,the flame retardancy property of PP/Glass fiber needle-punched felt was studied,using different ratio of aluminum hydroxide(Al(OH)3)/zinc borate(ZB)and Al(OH)3/APP to find better flame retardancy properties of PP/Glass fiber needle-punched felt.Firstly,the PVA solution modified by Al(OH)3/ZB,which was tested for rheological properties.With increasing of Al(OH)3/ZB content and time,the viscosity of flame-retardant PVA solution was increased,and tends to be stable in appropriate conditions.Then,PP/Glass fiber needle-punched felt modified by flame-retardant PVA solution,and the mechanical properties were tested.With the content of Al(OH)3/ZB increased,the compatibility between inorganic flame retardant and matrix was poored,also,the elongation at break and tensile strength of PP/Glass fiber needle-punched felt were decreased,which was easier to tear.The flame retardancy of PP/Glass fiber needle-punched felt was tested.There was very prominent synergistic flame retardant effect among Al(OH)3 and ZB to PP/Glass fiber needle-punched felt,with the content of Al(OH)3/ZB increased,limiting oxygen index(LOI)increased,and flame retardancy efficiency was enhanced.Secondly,the PP/Glass fiber needle-punched felt was thermal oxygen aging treatment.As treatment time going on,the LOI firstly increased but then decreased,and that showed worst flame retardancy stability.Also,the PP/Glass fiber needle-punched felt was light oxygen aging treatment.LOI was increased at first,then decreased,finally increased,and that showed worst flame retardancy stability. |
