Shaanxi Province Carbon Emissions Status And Influencing Factors

In recent years,with the sustained and rapid economic development,China has become the world’s largest carbon emitter,facing an increasing pressure to reduce emission of carbon.The Chinese government faces the challenges of global climate change,which characterized by climate warming,and puts forward the target of the periodic carbon dioxide emissions reduction.Provincial economic region is the basic implementation of greenhouse-gas emissions policy of China.Shaanxi province which is a rich province of energy,listed as one of the first low carbon pilot areas in China.The research of affecting factors in carbon emissions of Shaanxi province is not only helpful to making energy conservation and emissions reduction policy in Shaanxi province,but also to achieving carbon reduction target in 2020 of China.The paper based on the literature review and summary of basic theory,using the method of statistical analysis and econometric analysis,the research content mainly includes six parts.The first part of the introduction,introduces the research background and research significance of carbon emissions,summarized the research progress both at home and abroad and related theory.The second part of the methods of research put forward a suitable measurement of carbon emissions in Shaanxi province,determine the research ideas,research methods and technical route.The third part of the analysis of the carbon emissions present situation in Shaanxi province.On the analysis of the present situation of Shaanxi economy development and energy consumption,based on the calculation analysis of the years of 2003-2015,carbon emissions and carbon intensity change trend.The fourth part,the carbon impact factor decomposition analysis,by using the extended Kaya model and decompose the logarithmic average method,the economic development,energy consumption structure and energy intensity three factors impact on carbon emissions growth change decomposition.The fifth part,countermeasures and suggestions,is according to the results of the analysis in view of the various factors affecting the reduction suggestions respectively.The conclusion part,summarize the main conclusions.The results showed that: from the years of 2003 to 2015,Shaanxi provincial carbon emissions present a trend of increasing year by year,from 2739.48×104t in 2003 increase to 8421.23×104t in 2015;effect of economic development in Shaanxi province is the largest contribution to the carbon emissions,the cumulative effect is positive,the economic development is the dominant factor of carbon emissions growth in Shaanxi Province;effect of energy structure and energy intensity effect cumulative effect is negative,the both of them are the main factors that restrain carbon emissions growth,but the effect of carbon emissions are not significant in Shaanxi province.
