Because of the increasingly strict requirement to exhaust emission of all trades,new methods to reduce particulate emissions of exhaust gases start to be applied by many small and medium enterprises.Therefore,the project team cooperated with an enterprise develop a new cartridge filter.The distribution of the flow field in the cartridge filter has important influence on filter efficiency and equipment life.The numerical simulation method is used in this paper to study the flow field characteristics of filtration.The effect of flow field distribution to filter efficiency and equipment life is analyzed,and intervention method to improve flow field characteristics of cartridge filter is developed,which provide reference for the structure design and performance improvement of the cartridge filter.In order to lay foundation for the building of geometric model,the working principles of filtration and cleaning conditions of the cartridge filter are introduced,and the structure of the cartridge filter that the project team developed has been described.In order to provide theory foundation for building physical model of flow field about cartridge filter,the theory used to study the inner flow field of cartridge filter with numerical simulation method of CFD is summarized.According to the simplified principle,geometric model reflecting working theory is established based on the cartridge filter that the project team developed.And physical model used for analyzing flow field is established through defining turbulence model and boundary conditions.Finally,the result of physical model is calculated.The visual flow field results is obtained and analysed,and then the simulation results of flow field of cartridge filter is post-processed.Based on the study of the motion rules of flow field,the problem existing on flow distribution of cartridge filter is analysed and the flow distribution coefficient is taken as the indicator used to evaluate the gas volume that the cartridge filter deal with.The measures of flow field intervention and baffle layout are taken to solve the problems existing in the flow field distribution of the original cartridge filter.Comparison has been made between the original model and improved one in order to determine the method of improving the flow field and dust-cleaning efficiency.
