The Application And Research Of Umbrella Design Based On Regional Culture

Culture is taken as a national or regional soft power,which is attracting more and more attention.Industrial design has achieved considerable progress under national policy strong support.So how to continue to explore and excavate the characteristics of Chinese culture,especially regional characteristics of the product,has become the focus of attention.The regional cultural product is the accumulation of wisdom with a long time,and also a microcosm of the regional era.It contains distinct regional characteristics in many aspects such as form,color and so on,which conforms to the regional people's habits and aesthetic tastes.Nowadays,although people pay more and more attention to spiritual and cultural lives and development is also advancing by leaps and bounds,product design with regional cultural characteristics has always been a vague and weak link.Therefore,a product with a regional culture is needed and can inherit and promote regional culture.In order to find a regional product with practicality and culture that can carry and spread the regional culture,the author did plenty of field investigation and research practice.Umbrella is finally taken as a design object owing to four reasons.Firstly,umbrella as a daily tool closely related with people's production and lives,its functionality and practicality with the passage of time are gradually refined in the process of its development,and it has become an indispensable product of people's production and life.Secondly,the umbrella with the regional culture has a close relationship with local cultural habits of the pulse,such as the weather usually shows rainfall and low temperature snowfall in northern China,therefore umbrella in the northern may be more solid than one in other regions.What's more,the origin and invention of umbrella is from China.It intertwines with local human geography and culture after being introduced to Europe as an exotic.It successfully blends into local cultural background and cultural history.It's human values and cultural values are worth digging.For example,the long handle umbrella is not only for keeping off wind and rain for British people,but also a symbol for British gentlemen.Finally,the umbrella as a daily necessity has been given more of the functionality and content,so that the existence of the umbrella is the connotation of a multi-change.It is a win-win situation if the inheritance,development,dissemination and protection of regional culture can be carried with the characteristics of blending and practicality.Starting from the regional culture,this thesis presents other possibilities of umbrella design by investigating the development and evolution process of umbrella and exploring the development trend of design under the context of regional culture.Based on the differences between cultural and regional culture,it also describes the multiple factors of affecting the development of umbrella,extracts the umbrella's design factors and looks for some inspiration for the umbrella's design through ergonomic,design psychology,design methods and design procedures related theories.According to the above,it extracts new regional cultural factors and proposes the umbrella design plan by combining the umbrella's practicality.It intends to propose an umbrella plan with full humane care based on the regional culture.Finally,the author wishes that umbrella design can trigger the viewer on the regional culture of new thinking.These ponders contain how to make the design culture and deeper connotation,how to make culture through the design of heritage,and how to make our Chinese civilization and regional culture through the design to go longer and farther.
