Research On Emotional Design Of Children’s Furniture

With the continuous development of social productive forces,people’s material needs have been greatly satisfied.Consumerself-consciousness began to awaken,too much emphasis on product-oriented design has been unable to meet the emotional needs of people.Products are not only tools for people,but also become a medium of communication and the transmission of emotional information carrier.Product emotional design has become the future development of the main trends in the design field.Children’s furniture as an important branch of the furniture industry,consumers pay more and more attention on it.On the current market,a lot of children’s furniture is only a small version of the adult furniture,simply can not meet the children in various stages of development of the material and spiritual needs,seriously affect the physical and mental health of children.This paper analyzes the psychological and behavioral characteristics of children at different ages based on the children’s development psychology,and discusses the necessity of emotional design of children’s furniture from the perspective of children’s furniture development,psychology and ergonomics.Combined with Professor Norman ’s emotional design theory,from the instinct level,behavior level,the level of reflection of the product elements and emotional internal relations.Based on the physical and mental characteristics of children in different periods,the paper explores the law of emotional design of children’s furniture,and puts forward the principle of emotional design of children’s furniture,especially pointed out that the children’s furniture and the emotional needs of the product as a starting point,emotional design should follow the principle of element integrity,in the design process need to pay attention to the elements with appropriate.Summed up a set of guiding children’s furniture,emotional design method,the author suggested that the designer can want to express a positive emotion and create a corresponding product impression as the emotional carrier,according to the default emotional-Product Impression-Product Factors.This thinking process is designed to incorporate abstract emotions into specific product elements.Under the guidance of this idea,the children’s furniture emotional design practice,in turn,verify the design principles and methods of rationality and effectiveness.
