Research On The Application Of Guangyuan Maliu Embroidery To Fashion Design

Guangyuan Maliu embroidery was awarded as one of the second batch of National Intangible Cultural Heritages.It is also one of important parts constituting Chinese excellent folk arts,which bears the unique North Sichuan folk culture with a great artistic and cultural value.The distinguished features of Guangyuan Maliu embroidery are not only characterized in color and knitting,but also in cultural connotations and aesthetic features of picture design and content.Besides,it possesses a perfectly unique art style and manifestation.On top of that,Guangyuan Maliu embroidery,as a form of traditional Chinese ethical folk embroidery,manages to incorporate traditional cultural elements into modern fashion design concept and traditional crafts into modern crafts to ensure sustainable development of Guangyuan Maliu embroidery.Integration of Guangyuan Maliu embroidery crafts with fashion design does not only liven up this folk art that possesses modern spirit,but also enrich artistic expressions of Chinese embroidery art in fashion design.This thesis is aimed at studying artistic characteristics,design implication,and cultural value of Guangyan Maliu embroidery,from the perspective of origin,development,current situation,subject source,color characteristics,design abstraction and composition form etc.Moreoever,it systematically sorts out and clarrifies twelve forms of Guangyuan Maliu embroidery crafts and its knitting as a whole.Regarding the current difficult situation of future heritage facing Guangyuan Maliu embroidery,it mainly elaborates on the meaning,methods and principles of Guangyuan Maliu embroidery in fashion design.Furthermore,it focuses on the match point and feasibility of future development with fashion design.In summary,the innovative part of this thesis lies in fulfulling the princiles and methods of Guangyuan Maliu embroidery applied in fashion design.It adopts study methods of combination of theory and practices to explore a new route for the heirtage and development of Guangyuan Maliu embroidery,which is an excellent form of Chinese folk art,in an attempt to provide a study example for combination of tradition and fashion.
