Pictographic literacy toy design was conducted for 4 to 6 years old preschool children in the design practice,this design report is the analysis of the whole design practice and the generalization and summarization of the forming process of design works.The first is the design requirements research report.First has carried on the investigation and analysis about the present situation of educational toys market,using the research method of the total-fraction from whole to part,from the status of the domestic toy market to educational toys market,finally to literacy toy market are analyzed.The study on the investigation of the fancy toy market first,adopt the way of field investigation and offline network research comparison research,analysis the development of the educational toys market trend and the features of products,thus revelation literacy toy design development direction.Literacy toys are an important part of the puzzle toy and are the main targets of the study.Through the comprehensive characteristics of all kinds of literacy toy in the market,combined with the advantages and disadvantages of existing literacy toys,absorb the benefits of the study,rich new design point.The ultimate goal of the design is the ability to achieve the functional ability of the literacy toy,and to provide the children with a relaxed and enjoyable experience of play,which makes a meaningful design.In general,through the study of market demand,provides the design the corresponding market positioning and key design points,help to design the direction of the elaboration and the improvement of the design.The second part is the literature research report.Literature study overall contains two aspects: on the one hand is about the study of the theory of the pictographic,on the other hand is the characteristic of audience preschoolers(physical,psychological,cognitive and thinking)research.Through theoretical study,the relationship between the design of hieroglyphs and characters,the thinking characteristics of preschool children and the relationship between Chinese characters learning.The design is based on "hieroglyphs",using the traditional method of making words,using toys as a carrier and guiding children to learn Chinese characters.The earliest hieroglyphs are showed in the form of "painting",so the Chinese characters form the process of reduction and reproduction,help children's understanding of Chinese characters and memory,through vivid and interesting graphics drawing auxiliary literacy,in line with the specific iconicity of children's thinking.The third part is the design practice report section.On the basis of demand research and theoretical research,the product design of the literacy toy is formed.The design of the combination of graphics and fonts,combined with the movement of the brain,makes the learning of Chinese characters in preschoolers more relaxed and interesting.Design is to solve the limitations of traditional literacy toys or tools and oneness,can exercise corretly coordination ability,and can play in games and in the process of natural learning Chinese characters.
