With the continuous development of clean energy, the pipelines and equipment are influenced by the acid, alkali, salt and other corrosive factors in the process of collection, transportation and treatment of natural gas. It causes damage to anticorrosion layer of facilities and equipment, which leads to perforation and leakage, leaving great potential safety hazard. In particular, in some near-the-sea oil and gas fields, more serious corrosion of equipment occurs as the humidity of seaside environment and large amount of chloride ions contained in the air.This paper is based on on-site investigation and mechanism study of serious corrosion of natural gas treatment plant's equipment and facilities in a coastal area. Through analyzing the phase structure and elemental composition, it indicates that 20# steel and 16Mn are not suitable for pipe materials in water treatment process of natural gas transportation.Five kinds of anticorrosive coatings for the coastal area are screened through market research and the valuation of their performance is also employed. It shows that a kind of three-component solvent-free epoxy heavy anticorrosion coatings is suitable for natural gas treatment devices in coastal areas. The analysis of the important link of anticorrosion construction is also conducted in order to make the anticorrosion construction more effective based on the guarantee of economic benefits.
