With the sustainable and rapid development of China's economy, the country's demand for coal resources has been increasing, and the high-intensity mining activities in coal mining areas have led to continuous decline of the quality and productivityof the land.Study on the evolution law of land degradation in coal mining areas can provide theoretical basis and scientific reference for redevelopment and rehabilitation of land in coal mining areas.Currently mining land degradation has not yet been broadly defined. From the perspective of sustainable land use and the characteristics of land ecology evolution in coal mining area, this paper evaluates and analyzes the land degradation status of Panxian coal mine areafrom three aspects, namely vegetation degradation, soil material loss and land ecological quality Regional land degradation status evaluation and analysis. The main research contents and results are as follows:(1)Study on temporal and spatial evolution of vegetation coverage in mining area. The spatial distribution of vegetation coverage in coal mining area was extracted by using 30 m resolution remote sensing images. The relationship between spatial distribution of coverage and coal miningin Panxian mining area from 2000 to 2015 was studied by using global spatial self-correlation and "hot spot" analysis method. And the effect of elevation, slope, aspect, soil and coal mining on the spatial distribution of vegetation coverage in Panxian mining area was compared by factor detector in geo-detector analysis method; The results showed that the vegetation growth status in Panxian mining area continues to improve, and the terrain, development and construction and coal mining activities affected the spatial distribution of vegetation in the mining area at the same time. The vegetation growth status differed greatly in different mining planning areas. The vegetation grew very well in mountains of planned mining area, and its annual varation was very small. The vegetation coverage in villagesand mines of high density is low.The influence of coal mining on vegetation spatial distribution was less than that of terrain and it kept declining over the past 15 years.(2)Effect of Coal Mining on Soil Loss in Mining Area. The RUSLE model was applied to estimate the soil material loss intensity in Panxian mining area from 2000 to 2015,and the disturbance of soil material loss by coal mining was studied by spatial analysis method such as buffer analysis and spatial statistics. The results showed that the coal mining activities exacerbated the loss of soil in mining area and the 2km area round the mine, and the farther, the less of the influence. The precipitation was the main factor affecting the interannual variability of soil erosion in the mining area.In comparison of soil material loss in the mining area, the soil loss on the forest land, the cultivated land and the unused land was larger than that of the outside of mining area, and the difference between internal and external mining area in gentle slope was larger than that in the steep slope area.(3)The construction of the evaluation index system of land ecological quality in mining area and and the analysis of the spatial variability of land ecological quality and the influence of coal mine development and construction on land ecological quality.Based on the principles of landscape ecology, the comprehensive evaluation index system was constructed from three aspects(landscape stability, disturbance degree and land ecological benefit)to evaluate the spatial ecological quality of Panxian mining area synthetically. The spatial dissimilarity of evaluation results was analyzed. The effects of terrain, climate, industrial and mining development, road construction and water resources on the ecological quality of land in Panxian mining area were analyzed by geographic weighted regression. The results showed thatthe proportion of poor ecological quality area was larger,The spatial distribution of land ecological quality had obvious spatial positive correlation.Areas with better ecological quality tended to be distributed in areas far from the mine area. The impact of industrial and mining development on the ecological quality of the land was less than that of other factors such as terrain, climate and urban distance.
