Triassic is the first period of Mesozoic and start from the end-Permian mass extinction of Late Paleozoic in which more than 50% of marine invertebrates disappear.However,it is for this reason that provided the opportunity for new species to explode and radiate.Marine reptiles appeared for the first time and this period was an important era for marine reptiles to develop and radiate from land to sea.Triassic marine fossils are widely distributed in Europe,North America and southern China.Monte San Giorgio is a representative and the only Triassic world natural heritage site nominated for the world heritage criteria(viii).Guizhou Triassic Fossil Sites include 3components which are Panxian Component,Xingyi Component and Guanling Component.It's the representative of the Triassic fossil habitat in China and also an important area for the study of Triassic paleontology in the world.Species diversity refers to the abundance of species on earth.Because of the particularity of fossils,,species diversity refers to the type and quantity of fossils in this paper.It's one of the best attributes to react the Paleontology's value.Lack research on the systematic study of the potential outstanding universal value of the fossil species diversity in this region,so the paper choose Panxian,Xingyi and Guanling fossil sites as the research object area and according to the basic theories of Palaeogeography,Ecology and Paleontology.During the July of 2015 to December of 2016,through field research,literature review,consulting expert and comparative analysis etc,make research on heritage feature of species diversity and ecological evolution process of Guizhou Triassic Fossil Sites through the comparative analysis with the region that has comparability features in the world.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The age of ancient animal fossils found in the nominated property are from Ainsian of Middle Triassic to Carnian of the Late Triassic and conclude marine reptiles and fish of vertebrates,ammonoids,bivalves,gastropods and other invertebrates that they have a huge quantity,high species richness and all in readiness.The species diversity of Guizhou Triassic Fossil Sites indicates a complete sequence of ancient marine life: silence-restoration-radiation-stabilization.Up to December 2016,about 42 types of marine reptiles including Ichthyosaur,Placodontia,Eosauropterygians,Thalattosaurians,Protorosauria,Archosauria,Saurosphargidae and Turtle belong to 8 categories have been found and reported.Marine reptiles have a huge quantity,full species richness and many important species.The same as marine reptiles,but fish has only more than 20 species reporteddue to the lower study degree.Some species which have important biological value were found such as Panxianichthys inparilis and Potanichthys xingyiensis.Invertebrates are just like fish and most famous for Guanling biota where Traumatocrinus fossil attached to the driftwood;From ecological evolution process that fossils reacted.The species diversity of Guizhou Triassic Fossil Sites indicates a complete sequence of ancient marine life: silence-restoration-radiation-stabilization and reflects the evolution of marine organisms from shallow coastal waters like Panxian biota to shallow and deep waters like Xingyi biota and Guanling biota.Mixosaurus,Protorosauria and Saurosphargidae in Panxian biota,Lariosaurus xingyiensis in Xingyi Fossil Site and Psephochelys polyosteoderma,Anshunsaurus huangguoshuensis in Guanling biota are all show strong affinity of Europe west Tethys.Xinpusaurus suni and Qianichthyosurus zhoui in Guanling biota show affinity of north America East Pacific fauna.What that all means,this area may be located in the transition zonetransition zone between Western Tethys Ocean and Panthalassa Ocean that shows a special geographical location.(2)Guizhou Triassic Fossil Sites has Global uniqueness and specificity when compared with other similarities about species diversity.Through the analysis of the world heritage criteria(viii)in Guizhou Triassic Fossil Sites nominated property and 3 World Heritage site of fossil,2 preliminary list of heritage sites and 7 non heritage sites with an ancient biological value,conclude: It is a distinguished Triassic fossil site characterized by high diversity,long time duration and a wide range of distribution.It's unique in the world.But the species diversity,quality and research degree of fish and invertebrates are all less than Monte San Giorgio.The species diversity of Guizhou Triassic Fossil Sites indicates a complete sequence of ancient marine life: silence-restoration-radiation-stabilization and it's unique.The nominated property has a special geographical location and it's a representative area for the study of the exchange and evolution of different biological regions in the Triassic age.(3)Guizhou Triassic Fossil Sites has outstanding universal value in species diversity.It's a representative area for the study of the exchange and evolution of different biological regions in the Triassic age and the best record to study the evolution history of marine life in the middle and late Triassic.Both meet the world heritage criteria(viii).According to the conclusion of heritage feature research and global comparativeanalysis of Triassic Fossil Sites,and compared with the heritage criteria of the Operational Guidelines for the implement of the World Heritage Convention,it is concluded that the ancient village meets the World Heritage criteria(viii).Guizhou Triassic Fossil Sites is unique in the world because of its world's highest species diversity of marine reptiles and a large amount of fish and invertebrates.In this area,many characteristic species with important paleontological value was found just like Mixosaurus panxianensis,Qianosuchus mixtus,Odontochelys semitestacea and Panxianichthys inparilis,Potanichthys xingyiensis of fish,etc;The species diversity of Guizhou Triassic Fossil Sites indicates a complete sequence of ancient marine life:silence-restoration-radiation-stabilization and it's unique.The nominated property is a representative area for the study of the exchange and evolution of different biological regions in the Triassic age because of its strong affinity of Europe west Tethys and north America East Pacific fauna.So,Guizhou Triassic Fossil Sites has the outstanding universal value and it is the best record to study the evolution history of marine life in the middle and late Triassic.Both meet the world heritage criteria(viii).(4)Disadvantages and suggestions on the process of Guizhou Triassic Fossil Sites' world heritage request.Guizhou Triassic Fossil Sites has great potentiality to declare World Natural Heritage because of its significant outstanding universal value.But there are still some disadvantages and they are mainly in the following 3 aspects:(1)Guizhou Triassic Fossil Sites' relatively short history which is more than 60 years is far less than Monte San Giorgio which has 160 years' research history.Though Guizhou Triassic Fossil Sites' marine reptiles' diversity is better than the latter,fish and invertebrates' diversity are not as well as Monte San Giorgio due to its lower research degree and short research history.But their research potential is great.To strengthen the science research to fish and invertebrates,that will be largely improving the competitiveness of Guizhou Triassic Fossil Sites.(2)Guizhou Triassic Fossil Sites include 3 components which are Panxian Component,Xingyi Component and Guanling Component.Their combinations' potential outstanding universal values are notable and meet the world heritage criteria(viii).But single component can't compare with World Natural Heritage site of Monte San Giorgio and their heritage values are not very prominent.To ensure highest possible success,they must be bound.(3)As the project of Guizhou Triassic Fossil Sites has just begun,we are notfully prepared in all aspects.We should actively learn from the successful experience of the heritage site at home and abroad and make actively cooperation between all regions and departments to ensure the smooth completion of the heritage declaration.
