The "software is the instrument" represents the future direction of instrument's deve-lopment.The software platform of LabVIEW is the most widely used and representative platform in virtual instrument and it is the ideal choice for developing measurement and control system.LabVIEW is based on G language with features of intuitive image and low entry barriers,which makes it so simple for non-traditional computer programmers to learn and master.Its development environment integrates all the tools needed for a variety of applications,making it easy to set up a data acquisition and analysis system.Combines virtual instrument and seismic exploration,the paper develops seismic exploration instruments on the virtual instrument platform,which has a good scalability,interface,low maintenance cost advantages.This paper first analyzes the principle,characteristics and applications of virtual instrument,and combines with the demand of the seismic exploration data acquisition,gives the design scheme of hardware and software platform for the instrument.In the end,the paper designed a seismic exploration data acquisition of 48 channels experimental instrument based on Lab VIEW.Hardware,the paper draws a diagram of the whole hardware platform construction.Considering the requirements of seismic waveform data acquisition,the paper completes the selection of data acquisition card and the analysis of the relevant characteristics of seismometer.The paper also studied the whole hardware platform of anti-interference problem;it further improves the stability of the whole hardware platform and acquisition precision.Virtual instrument software's design is based on LabVIEW 2014 which is NI's virtual instrument products.By using LabVIEW development tools the author achieves the application of the instrument,including data acquisition module,analysis and processing module,storage and display modules.The instrument interface is intuitive and iconic;it can generate historical data files which facilitate seismic waveform data to be stored.Finally,the paper verifys the whole system by experimental verification.The results show that the experimental instrument system can realize seismic data acquisition and storage,and its stability is good.
