This dissertation mainly talks about the taxonomic study of the genus Trachys from China. Genus Trachys belongs to Coleoptera: Buprestoidea:Agrilinae: Trachyini. This genus is the largest in Trachyini. There are 637 species and 5 subspecies in the genus Trachys which is the biggest genus in the tribe Trachyini and 54 species distributed in China. The species of the genus Trachys distributed in Afrotropical, Australasian, Oriental, Palaearctic regions. The species are described and compared with similar species, also provided some picture of male genitalia. Based on domestic and foreign literatures, the synonyms and the citation are provided for each species. There are 192 figures in this dissertation,including aedeagus and other characteristics of figures.This paper consists of 6 parts: the research background, materials and methods, morphological characteristics, biological characteristics, geographical distribution and species description.There are 54 species of the genus Trachys in China, including 8 new records and 2 new species: Trachys fasciunculus Saunders, 1866, T. perroti Descarpentries& Villiers, 1964, T. sanguinipilis Descarpentries & Villiers, 1966, T. vicarians Obenberger, 1918, T, pseudolyrus Descarpentries & Villiers, 1965, T. yoshidai kurosawa, 1959, T. helferi Obenberger, 1918, T. cuneiferus Kurosawa, 1959, T.menlunensis sp. nov and T. nannuoshanensis sp. nov. Each species has citation of literature and distribution information. Figures of clypeus, prosternal process and pronotum are provided for 34 species.
