The genus Dohrniphora belongs to subfamily Phorinae, family Phoridae, superfamily Phoroidea, Diptera. Presently 231 species were known worldwide and 9 species from China. The species of genus Dohrniphora mainly feed on decaying materials, so some species of this genus can be used in forensic entomology. And some other species are beneficial insects for agriculture. The main identification characteristics of genus Dohrniphora is mid tibia with only one palisade, hind femur with sensory complex composing of spinules, wing vein R2+3 and supra-antennal bristles present. Using Olympus optical microscope to observe morphology characteristics of the genus Dohrniphora, and some important characteristics were captured via Olympus digital three-dimensional photographic technique. Characteristics of structure were drawn using CorelDRAW 12 software.During the study, nearly 200 specimens of genus Dohrniphora collected from 16 provinces or autonomous regions of China were prepared and identified. In this paper,19 species were recorded, of which 8 species were described as new to science and 2 species were reported for the first time in China. The further distribution records for 3 known species were added. A preliminary analysis to the faunistic characteristics of the genus were given. Dohrniphora were mostly distributed in Oriental Realm, especially in South China Region. In this paper, there were 26 figures,65 photos. The key to species, and distribution catalogue were provided.New species of genus Dohrniphora from China (8 species):Dohrniphora microspinosa sp. nov., D. acutula sp. nov., D. cespitula sp. nov., D. infrequens sp. nov., D. rectangularis sp. nov., D. dentitenuis sp. nov., D. densilinearis sp. nov., D. disparilis sp. nov. New records from China (2 species):D. georgei Disney, D. beaveri Disney.
