The exploitation and utilization of coal resources is a powerful driving force for regional economic development. However, the process of coal resource exploitation will directly and indirectly change the landscape pattern and regional geochemistry, ecological system and the local characteristics of flora and founa,so that, the regional landscape structure, function and effect would be faced irreversible changes. Therefore,it is very crucial to study the landscape pattern evolution and its fragility in the opencast coal mining area in depth and systematically, which is very important to protect the regional ecological balance and realize the sustainable utilization of regional land resources and the green exploitation of coal resources.Eastern Junggar coal-field which is ecologically fragile and sensitive mining area located in northwest China, was selected as a study area.Based on the theory of landscape ecology and landscape vulnerability assessment, this paper used remote sensing(RS),geographic information system(GIS),geo-statistics to study the landscape pattern of the mining area and its vulnerability. The paper to obtain the main results:(1)On the basis of land use characteristics,Landsat MSS,TM and OLI were used as data sources to construct land use cover classification system in Eastern Junggar coal-field.The SVM classification method is applied to extract the land use cover information from the five remote sensing images. The results show that the classification method has high precision, and the classification result of each year is above 0.82.(2)According to the grain size index of the landscape pattern, the optimal analysis size of the landscape pattern index of Eastern Junggar coal-field is 60 m.Under this granularity, based on the landscape type and landscape level, sudy area`s landscape pattern changes were analyzed.2006-2016,bare land, bare rocky land and sandy land are affected by coal mining activities, and the plots tend to be broken and the connectivity is decreasing. At the landscape level, after 2006,The pattern of regional landscape is driven by the exploitation of coal resources, and the landscape pattern had a tendency of fragmentation, heterogeneity and connectivity.(3)Grid GIS technology and economic development statistics were applied for analyzing the spatial and temporal changing of landscape ecological service value(ESV)of open-pit coal mining area, and comparing the Spatial differentiation pattern of ecological service value based on the county-level administrative unit. The results show that the exploitation of coal resources is the main driving force of spatial heterogeneity of regional ecological service value.Between 1976 and 2016,the ESV of the study area increased sharply from $ 11,656 million to $ 143.8974 billion, and the mining area was surrounded by low-value areas. The ESV and its dynamic evolution in the study area showed obvious spatial autocorrect lotion and High and low value aggregation phenomenon.
