The quality of eco-geological environment impacts the living conditions of human.A series of environmental problems such as geological disasters,environmental pollution,soil erosion and biodiversity reduction occur with the improvement of human economic level.Evaluating eco-geological environment scientifically is helpful for planning the strategies of protecting and restoring eco-geological environment.The eco-geological environment of Ningguo City was evaluated qualitatively and quantitatively with the method of AHP and WLC.The method can calculate the weight of indexes based on the GIS geospatial database.The index system contained the lithosphere,atmosphere,hydrosphere,biosphere and human activity as the Grade I indicators.According to the grading standards,we classified the eco-geological environment quality in Ningguo city into four classes,and analyzed the condition of each class.Landscape fragmentation has been concerned especially as one of the eco-geological environment problems,which poses a threat to landscape connectivity and ecosystem stability due to urban development,transportation infrastructure,and agriculture.It is meaningful to quantify the level of landscape fragmentation in an ecologically meaningful way for ecological planning and protection.We investigated variation in meff measured by municipal counties,towns and grids of one square kilometer within Ningguo City.The fragmentation geometry was developed by overlaying highways,roads,urbanized areas,agricultural areas,mining areas,cutting areas and the waters.The meff index was calculated by CBC procedure.The meff values varied from 0 to 422.92km2 based on three reporting units in Ningguo City,indicating that there are obvious landscape fragmentations in the City.Spatial distribution of the areas with low meff value shares a feature of herringbone.Degree of landscape fragmentation is the highest in urban area,with the lowest in northwest and south areas in Ningguo City.We investigated the relationship between eco-geological environment quality and the degree of landscape fragmentation within the eco-geological environment quality subareas using meff index.The result was that the better the quality of eco-geological environment,the lighter the degree of landscape fragmentation in Ningguo City.
