From the end of 1970’s to the early of the 1980’s, Shenyang fan Ltd. Co. imported IBM computers and applied its COPICS software indicating the origin of MRPII/ERP concept and method in China. Thousands of enterprises applied MRPII/ERP during the recent twenty years, especially after China entered into WTO, a lot of companies apply ERP to meet the challenge of the union of global economic. Depending on effective of resource integrating, the management can make better decision at the first time. However, it is not very successful and satisfied in our country to apply ERP and the implementation of ERP enters into the black hole of“complex, expensive and lasting long time”.The logic and methods of RM was proven to help to tell us which, where and when project activity exists probable question and potential risk, to evaluate possibility, loss of rising risk, and how to deal with risk. However it is seldom applied in the potential risk research of critical business process of Mix Manuf. of Discrete & Process enterprises’ERP PM (Plant Maintenance) Module in China and the worldwide.This research connects RM with critical business process of pharmaceutical enterprise’s ERP PM Module, use BY as an example to identify potential risk and evaluate possibility, loss and detection of rising risk, to appraise class and priority of rising risk, and work out risk management strategy and measurements of how to deal with risk. The research is aimed to push the application of RM and help Mix Manuf. of Discrete & Process enterprises to implement ERP system effectively and quickly. This article contains five chapters. The first chapter describes the motivation, objective, structure of this research. The second chapter presents SAP Company and its product R/3 system to know about internal buildup of R/3 and PM (Plant Maintenance) Module. The third chapter concludes RM process of this research via discussing the logic process of RM and its assistant methods. The fourth chapter discusses the value of RM in implementation of ERP connecting with BY ERP project and concludes Tab.16“Planned reply table to risk of SAP PM critical business process of BY Company”via real examples. At the end this article sums up relevant subjects and points out relevant problems when applying RM in ERP.This research helps project management avoid implementation risk of ERP PM Module reasonably and effectively, fast analyze potential risk of critical business process in ERP PM Module, suit the remedy to the case, and find out a solution to resolve it.
