With more and more enterprises have embarked on the road of information construction, the implementation of ERP is becoming one of the most important measures of enterprise’s informationization strategy. However, the overall situation of ERP implementation is pessimistic in domestic enterprises, the high failure rate is still a difficult problem that preoccupy the business world. Therefore, the problem of ERP assimilation begins to receive attention in academic cycles and becomes a research topic with profound significance.Given the importance of post-implementation phase of enterprise information system, we need to know how can the ERP be assimilated by the enterprise and be routine in work activities as well as business processes. By analyzing and summarizing the literatures of absorptive capacity theory and organization culture theory in IS field, combining IT innovation diffusion theory and IT assimilation theory, the author constructed a theoretical model. Taking Guangdong Province-based enterprises as the object of this study, the author collected data by questionnaire and using SPSS 23.0 as well as SmartPLS 2.0 to analyze data and test the model. This study found that the potential absorptive capacity and realized absorptive capacity significantly affected the assimilation of ERP, and realized absorptive capacity partially mediated the impact of potential absorptive capacity on the assimilation of ERP. In the process of ERP assimilation, the development culture and group culture significantly affected the potential absorptive capacity of organization, rational culture and hierarchical cultural significantly affected the realized absorptive capacity of organization. The author also found that rational culture directly affected the assimilation of ERP in this study. These conclusions also showed that absorptive capacity mediated the impact of organizational culture on ERP assimilation. |
