The increasing competitions among the auto manufacturers today makes the auto companies to reconsider their BTS(Build To Stock) mode and turn to BTO mode(Build To Order) to meet various demands from their customers. The smooth implementation of BTO relies on the flexible and efficient logistics system.Auto logistics system has become more and more complex with the emergence of lean philosophy and BTO. In automotive logistics system, auto parts inbound logistics is treated as the first and the most significant chain since it involves multiple providers, the large amount of auto parts and many kinds of parts. Efficient inbound logistics could help companies minimize their logistics cost. However, most auto manufactures in our country select their parts’ inbound logistics mode just based on their experience, which will cause a higher logistics cost. Thus it is necessary to build the inbound logistics selection model for auto parts to increase the inbound logistics efficiency and decrease the logistics cost and thus gain higher market competitiveness.This paper analyses the inbound logistics selection model of demotic auto parts for BTO by combing the theory model with the case study. Analyze the auto logistics for BTO, auto parts inbound logistics mode and logistics costs analysis and build the inbound logistics selection model of domestic auto parts for BTO.First, state the background and conclude the research status in terms of automobile manufacturers and inbound logistics of auto parts manufacturers and logistics cost analysis; put forward the research orientation and specify the research purpose and its meaning; present the main contents of this paper briefly.Second, analyze the inbound logistics selection model of domestic auto parts for BTO; describe the current state of the parts inbound logistics; analyze the current problem and conduct the demands on the inbound logistics mode selection.Third, set forth the inbound logistics activities; put forward the base to compute the activity cost, and come up with the calculation formulas.Forth, build the inbound logistics selection model of domestic auto parts for BTO; conduct the quantitative analysis in terms of the influencing factors and reference criteria to check if the mode can be determined; conduct quantities research for the direct delivery mode from supplier to assemble plant, delivery mode from RDC to assemble plant and delivery mode from remote RDC to assemble plant. Decompose these activities and compute their cost; determine the inbound logistics mode based on the result.Finally, apply the achievement of this research into the inbound logistics mode selection for bumper in CA auto manufacturing company, analyze the result and verify the effectiveness and feasibility of this thesis.
