Research On The Performance Management Optimization Of Personal Account Manager Of Bank Of China Gansu Branch

With the impact of economic globalization and the reform of China’s financial system, commercial banks in China are facing with an unprecedented competition.The scramble for resources is increasingly intensified between banks. Human resource is the core competence of an enterprise. Therefore, how to raise the management level to keep talent and encourage them to bring their superiority into full play has become a key point for banks to win competition. In a bank, account manager is the most fundamental unit and the key staff in the marketing activities.How to design performance management system to enhance their performance level and working enthusiasm has become the important content of improving bank profitability as well as retaining brilliant account managers.This paper based on the personal account manager performance management system in the transformation period of Bank of China Branch in Gansu Province. It starts with the basic theory of account manager and performance management,reveals the present situation and the existing problems in the personal account manager performance management system of this bank, by collecting information and depth interviews. Also, the causes of these problems are analyzed here. Based on this background, the optimization scheme has been proposed pointedly for the account manager performance management system of this bank, from every link of performance plan, performance assessment, performance communication and feedback, application of performance evaluation’s result.Some supporting measures are determined to make sure that this scheme could be carried out smoothly. Wish that this passage could bring some ideas to other commercial banks having the same problems in the transformation period.
