The Upgrading Path Of Equipment Manufacturing Industry In Hubei Province Under The Background Of New Technology Revolution

At present, the historical confluence of new technology revolution and transformation of the pattern of economic development, the rapid development combined with the deep integration of the new generation of information technology and manufacturing are giving rise to the revolution in manufacturing development philosophy, manufacturing mode, manufacturing method, technical system and the value chain. Experiencing the new challenge of technical revolution, the equipment manufacturing industry whose development degree is the important symbol of comprehensive economic strength and international competitiveness is in the the core of manufacturing. Hubei, with educational talent advantage, has a solid equipment manufacturing industry base, becoming a major equipment manufacturing industry province. It, having developed three equipment manufacturing industry agglomeration areas which are Wuhan City Circle,Yichang with Jingzhou and Xiangyang with Shiyan, has initially formed the industrial system of fabricated metal products, general equipment manufacturing industry, special equipment manufacturing, electric machinery and equipment manufacturing. But compared with the world’s advanced level of manufacturing industry development,the equipment manufacturing industry in Hubei province is big but not strong, existing a certain gap. It intensively manifests the weak ability of independent innovation, the high external dependency of core technology and high-edge equipment, the low quality of product, the lack of world famous brand, the unreasonable industrial structure and the low level of informationization. Thus, it is necessary to analyse current situation of the development of equipment manufacturing industry in Hubei province deeply, clear the influencing factors of the upgrade, actively seize the developing opportunities called ‘Internet+’, preempt future economy and the summit of science and technology by the means of upgrading equipment manufacturing industry, which finally realizes the innovation of equipment manufacturing industry in the intelligent manufacturing, collaborative innovation design, high-edge personalized customization, etc.Based on the review of the equipment manufacturing industry’s upgrading at home or abroad and combining industrial upgrading theory with collaborative innovation theory, this research paper clarifies the upgrading mechanism of the regional equipment manufacturing industry; Using RCA method and Principal Component Analysis(PCA), from the aspects of development survey, comparative advantage and competitiveness, the paper analyses the current situation of equipment manufacturing in Hubei province; Use the factor regression analysis method to measure the influencing factors of the equipment manufacturing industry’s upgrading in Hubei province; On account of the status of regional equipment manufacturing industry in Hubei province, applying industrial upgrading theory, embarking from the reality in Hubei, the paper designs a upgrade path suitable for Hubei’s reality, and finally puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions. Through the study of this article, we expect to provide theoretical reference for the upgrading of Hubei equipment manufacturing industry and enhance the core competitiveness of equipment manufacturing industry in Hubei province.
