Since the reform and opening up of China, with our people’s living level further improved, consumption concept matures, the end consumers pay attention to the glasses quality and function, at the same time also pay more and more attention to glasses decorative function and content of technology, progressive multi focal, aspherical design and high refractive index lens is being more and more consumers recognized and accepted, the glasses demand is growing very fast. Z Company as a global vision optical leader brand, in China and the global business is developing very well, especially in high level high index refractive rate lens business is very good momentum of development, even in short supply situation. Analysis of the next 5 years the market forecast of 20% annual rate of growth. Therefore, the company’s top management decided to build a new high index lens production line, the project cycle time is 1 years, expected to produce 20000 pieces per day after the completion of production capacity. Because of the increasing from human resources cost in China, the new production line is defined as full automatic production line at the beginning of the design, which also bring the difficulty to the project. Considering the special lens casting process, the application of automation technology is very difficult, is expected that the project will meet all kinds of challenges and unforeseen risk, so risk management will be very important to the success of the project.This paper takes the high index lens production line project management as the research object, mainly focuses on the analysis of the project risk management in the life cycle of the project. Firstly from lens industry development as research background, and for Z Company in the industry status and development trend to analyze the feasibility and necessity of the construction of the production line, avoid market volatility and lead to excess supply capacity problems. Secondly, the domestic and international risk management theory is further studied, which is expected to use the scientific risk management theory to apply to the specific project. Again on the production line construction project background, process and process are described. According to the new production line project management of the life cycle in the process of risk assessment and the risk management theory and tools, and be reasonable improvement and risk avoid. Finally, the research results are summarized, and the risk identification and management in the process of the construction project of the lens production line is found to be helpful to the development of China’s lens industry.The application a variety of project risk identification and management method to the course of the project, respectively, qualitative analysis, quantitative analysis and model building, brainstorming, Historical documents, expert opinion method, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, to expect the maximum possible identify all risks and in the course of the project to avoid.
