In the area of heavy industry, e-commerce transformation is regarded by more and more enterprises as an important means to obtain competitive advantage in the Internet age.E-commerce transformation, however, can not be achieved overnight, it deepends on the support of relevant resources and capacities, it is closely related to e-readiness, IT absorption capacity. This thesis tries to solve the problem how e-readiness and IT absorptive capacity affects the electricity transformation abilities. On this basis, probes into the paths of heavy industry enterprise’s e-commerce transformation. This study adopts the method of case study to analyze the above problem from a dynamic perspective, based on the TOE framework. And finally,we build the integrated model of heavy industry enterprise’s e-commerce transformation. This thesis generalizes the existing literatures, respectively carries on the literature review for e-readiness, IT absorptive ability, and e-commerce transformation ability. We found that the existing theoretical researches have little about heavy industry enterprises, also have no in-depth analysis of typical enterprise. In addition, most of the scholars discussed the influence of enterprise IT capability to the e-commerce transformation from the perspective of ability. None of them built the complete mechanism of electricity transformation. This provides a new perspective for this study. On the basis of literature review, this thesis clarifies the relationship of e-readiness, IT absorption and e-commerce transformation ability, constructs the research model of this thesis. That is the heavy industry enterprise’s e-commerce transformation can be divided into three stages:stage of start, stage of development, and stage of optimization. At each stage, we explore the "black box", which explain and verify the relationship between the three concepts. On this basis, we explore how resources and capacities influence heavy industry enterprise’s choices of e-commerce model, and then build their path of e-commerce transformation. This thesis adopted the method of case study, choose Shandong Iraeta co., LTD as the research object, used Nvivo to make code on the staffs’ interviews, senior leaders’ speeches, the company’s internal publications (Iraeta) and other files and informations of the company. On the basis of decoding analysis and questionnaire data, we carried on the thorough discussion and analysis of the research model.Through case analysis we found that, in the longitudinal view, heavy industry enterprise’s e-readiness level positive influences on its IT absorptive capacity; IT absorptive capacity affects its e-commerce transformation ability; E-readiness can directly affect, also can influence the e-commerce transformation ability through IT absorption capacity. In the crosswise view, the heavy industry enterprise’s e-commerce transformation ability is being improved as e-readiness and IT absorptive capacity develop, and then match the different e-commerce models. The choice of e-commerce models must match with e-commerce transformation abilities. In the end, according to the result of case analysis, this thesis builds the integrated model of heavy industry enterprise’s e-commerce transformation.Main innovation points of this article is as following:(1)Taking heavy industry enterprise as the research object, discussing the mechanism of its e-commerce transformation, making up for the deficiency of the existing research on the object of study;(2) Based on the TOE framework, putting forward and verifing the "black box"of how e-readiness and IT absorptive capacity influence the heavy industry enterprise’s e-commerce transformation ability, building the path model of heavy industry enterprise ’s e-commerce transformation.
