The Strategic Study For Tianjin Port Group On The Background Of Integration Of Port Clusters In Tianjin And Hebei

With the rapid development of social economy and the prosperity of port industry, there has been a port construction spree in coastal areas in recent years. Take the density of port clusters in the western area of Bohai Bay as an example, it has had such adverse effects as waste of resources, redundant construction and vicious competition, which has led to the constraints of future development and the upcoming expectation of the integration of the ports in the area with the ongoing optimization and integration of the industry.At present, obvious results have been achieved in resource consolidation of domestic ports with ongoing overseas counterparts.Facts have proved that resource consolidation of ports will raise the economic benefits of the ports and promote the development of related industries.The paper analyzes the opportunities and challenges for Tianjin Port (Group) Co., Ltd and brings up the strategies for its development against this background. The thesis includes six chapters:the first and second chapter explain the successful cases of domestic and overseas ports consolidation and concepts such as port, port clusters and resource consolidation. The third chapter elaborates the problems facing Tianjin Port Group for its development and carries on contrast analysis of general business, natural and social conditions and policies of the three ports in Hebei province. The fourth chapter analyzes the disadvantages, opportunities and challenges facing Tianjin Port Group in its development with the application of SWOT. On the basis of the above analysis, the fifth chapter puts forward the idea of reform, goal of development and concrete measures for achieving a rational resource allocation in the development of Tianjin Port Group. The sixth chapter is the conclusion of this thesis.Resource consolidation is a necessity for the expanding and strengthening of the ports. Embracing several major national overlapping strategic opportunities, Tianjin Port Group should try to develop itself into a high-end shipping service port featuring container pivotal port, modern logistics, shipping finance & insurance and shipping legal services. In the future regional ports consolidation, relying its goal on the establishment of high-end key port industry, Tianjin Port Group should develop modern logistics industrial chain, logistics financial services while taking into consideration of the sound development of multi industries.
