With the rapid development of industrial civilization,people had make a serious impact on natural ecosystems when they accumulated the material wealth. Traditional linear mode of economic development not only caused much waste of resources, but also led to serious environmental problems such as water pollution, air pollution and so on.So how to reconcile the relationship of economic growth and ecological protection had become the focus of researches.In this background, some Western scholars proposed the concept of industrial ecology,advocating simulating natural ecological cycle to reduce consumption and pollution for environment.Compared to the traditional linear mode of production, industrial ecology change the mode of production fundamentally, thereby reducing the destruction of the natural ecology, to achieve sustainable development. Compared to the traditional linear mode of production,industrial ecology changed the mode of production fundamentally, thereby reduced the destruction of the natural ecology and achieved sustainable development.Thus, the development of eco-industry became the focus of industrial research.At present, China has also used the industrial ecology into practice, and achieves certain results.Shanxi Province as an important energy heavy industry of China,has been using the mode of "high input, high consumption" to promote local economic development.And the rude way of development caused serious ecological problems for Shanxi Province.Therefore, industrial ecology becomes a good choice for Shanxi to solve sustainable problem.Now Shanxi Province is in a good development situation of industrial ecology,and establish a number of eco-industrial park. However, by the influence of economic development and ecological impacts,Shanxi Province is not high enough in industrial ecology compared to other regions.This paper discusses the theoretical researches for industrial ecology and the related theory, then combined with symbiosis theory, build the structures of industrial ecology development framework hierarchically.Then author evaluates the industrial ecology level of Shanxi Province and concluded that the problems in the development of industrial ecology in Shanxi Province.Next,combined with the development framework,author proposes specific ecological industry development path suitable for Shanxi Province.The paper is divided into six parts. Details are as follows:Part I: Introduction. Introducing the background of this paper, significance of thetopic, research methods and content in detail.Part II: Sorting out and describing industrial ecology, symbiosis theory and then using symbiotic theory to analyze the development mechanism of industrial ecology.Part III: This chapter evaluates the current ecological industry development situation in Shanxi Province by quantitative ways. We build eco-industrial level evaluation index system combined symbiosis theory,then build model on this basis.Finally using data of Shanxi Province and other central provinces to evaluating the industrial ecology level, analyze and compare the advantages and disadvantages of Shanxi and other industrial ecology levels between regions.Part IV: Combination of the above quantitative analysis of the results,we analyze the current problems and obstacles of Shanxi Province from different levels specifically.Part V: Firstly we use case analysis method to analyze the ecological industry development in Germany,which can provide some ideas for Shanxi subsequent development of industrial ecology.Part VI: Using Industrial Symbiosis Theory ecological development model to explore Shanxi industrial ecology viable development path, combined with the successful experience of the region as well as other problems in the current process of industrial ecology in Shanxi Province.
