Research On The Influence Of The Heterogeneity Of The Equipment Manufacturing Industry In The Western Region On The Path Selection Of Technological Progress

As an important part of equipment manufacturing industry in our country, the equipment manufacturing industry in the west of China is of great significance. Previous research results mainly concentrated in the study of China’s equipment manufacturing industry and equipment manufacturing industry in the eastern region, very little research in industry manufacturing of equipment in the western region, mainly reflected in the following aspects: research western equipment manufacturing industry the results less; fewer achievements research western equipment manufacturing industry technology progress path selection; three, the western region equipment manufacturing industry area and the area between the development level has certain difference, less literature research in the western region of equipment manufacturing industry heterogeneity on the choice of the path of technological progress effect.Therefore, this paper on the basis of previous related research, select 2005-2014 Western equipment manufacturing industry panel data, and taking into account the Western equipment manufacturing industry, there is heterogeneity of objective facts, in-depth study of the western area equipment manufacturing industry heterogeneity on the choice of the path of technological progress effect. First through to western area equipment manufacturing industry analysis, found in the gross value of industrial output, personnel number, the number of enterprises and the level of research and development has great heterogeneity; then it analyzes the manufacturing equipment in the western region five technology progress path of investment funds; the, western region partition for a region and the second region, using feasible generalized least squares method(FGLS) empirical research the effect of Western equipment manufacturing industry heterogeneity on the choice of the path of technological progress.The results show that the scale of enterprises, labor intensity, capital intensity and R & D intensity have an influence on the choice of technological progress path of equipment manufacturing industry in the western region. In one area, scale of the enterprise on the technical renovation, the purchase of technology, independent research and development has a significantly negative effect; labor intensive degree of technology import is significant negative effect, on the other four path of technological progress have significant positive effect; capital intensity of technological transformation, the domestic technology to buy has a significant positive effect; R & D intensity on domestic technology to buy has a significant positive effect. According to the second part, enterprise scale to the introduction of technology, independent research and development has a significantly negative effect, has a positive effect on digestion and absorption, but not significantly; labor intensive degree of five kinds of technological progress route has significant positive effect; capital intensive degree of independent research and development have a significant negative effect, has a significantly positive effect of the other four path of technological progress, R & D intensity to the introduction of technology, independent research and development has a significant positive effect, technological innovation, digestion and absorption of have a significant negative effect.
