Abstract/Summary:
With the development of economic globalization,countries around the world are becoming increasingly dependent on oil, gas and other energy sources. Currently, in the Asia Pacific region, China, Japan, Republic of Korea(ROK), Russia have became the fastest growing countries in terms of energy supply and demand. Among them,Russia is rich in oil and gas energy and has great potential for development. But the federation is facing with the dilemma which contains increasing difficulty of exploitation, insufficient refining capacity. As a major energy consumer, ROK’s 97%of oil and gas consumption are dependent on energy imports. However, the state holds advanced exploration techniques and refining capacity. Thus, the oil and gas cooperation between the two countries is the best choice to solve their energy problems.On the one hand, due to their energy economy are highly complementary, Russia and ROKs’ cooperation have broad prospects and huge potential. On the other hand,the process of cooperation also has encountered many obstacles. Meanwhile,Sino-Russian energy cooperation and energy cooperation between Russia and ROK have a lot of similarities. Their experiences and lessons are of great significance to our country. Therefore, a careful study of energy cooperation in Russia and ROK is necessary.The thesis is divided into six chapters. Firstly, based on the characteristics of oil and gas energy’s’ supply and demand in Russia and ROK, the part will detailed analyzes the status quo of their cooperation, the cooperation model. The second chapter analyzes problem factors which hinder energy cooperation between Russiaand ROK. Finally, the paper makes the suggestion to China’s energy cooperation with other countries.
