In the knowledge economy era,the importance of knowledge is self-evident, knowledge management has been a hot area of academic research. In order to integrate global resources use the advantages of host country, multinational company establish subsidiaries all over the world and take production activities. In order to obtain the competition strength, the subsidiary company needs to obtain new knowledge and skills from parent company frequently. The cross-border transfer of knowledge has become a hot academic research. However, due to the set-up time, cultural and historical differences, the differences about work experience, educational background between the employees of the parent company and the subsidiary company, the knowledge distance between parent company and subsidiary company is necessary being. The so-called knowledge distance refers to the differences and similarities about knowledge stock, knowledge structure between two organizations, and the levels of knowledge in a specialized area. The parent company and subsidiary company have to face up the knowledge distance when they take part in the knowledge activities. However, the empirical research on knowledge distance and knowledge transfer performance is not much in the existing studies. In the only study, scholars are all see the knowledge distance as a small factor and regard the knowledge distance as a single dimension variable. Knowledge distance is an important influence factor. Obviously, such research is so thin that not enough. In this study, we see the knowledge distance as the independent variable, and define and devise the dimensions of knowledge distance clearly, then study the mechanism about the dimensions of knowledge distance and knowledge transfer performance. Knowledge is the product of a certain context, and we must take the context factors into consideration when we study the knowledge transfer. Trust is prevalent between any companies. Any knowledge has the embeddedness feature. We introduce organizational trust and knowledge embeddedness as the moderator variables(in order to facilitate research, we see the trust as a single dimension variable). We study the impact of knowledge distance on knowledge transfer performance under the moderating effect of the trust knowledge embeddedness.Firstly, this paper review the relative literature about knowledge distance, organizational trust, knowledge embeddedness, and multinational company knowledge transfer performance, and on this basis, we constructs a conceptual model. In the empirical part, we summarize the maturity scale of the key elements, and design and recovery the questionnaire. About data analysis, we use SPSS19.0 statistical analysis software. Firstly, we make the reliability and validity analysis. Then we make the correlation analysis and regression analysis. Conclusion: in the proposed six hypotheses, all pass the test. Namely: the width of the Knowledge distance is positively related to the multinational knowledge transfer performance, the depth of the Knowledge distance is negative related to the multinational knowledge transfer performance, the organization trust adjust the relationship between width of the knowledge distance and multinational companies knowledge transfer performance positively, the organization trust adjust the relationship between depth of the knowledge distance and multinational companies knowledge transfer performance negatively, the knowledge embeddedness adjust the relationship between width of the knowledge distance and multinational companies knowledge transfer performance negatively, the knowledge embeddedness adjust the relationship between width of the knowledge distance and multinational companies knowledge transfer performance positively, For the conclusions past the test, we summarize the revelation.
