Study On China’s Manufactured Commodity Export Structure Optimization

Since the reform and opening up, China’s foreign trade maintained growth. With the scale of foreign trade, the structure of China’s exports has changed significantly. The manufactured goods have become the main products of the export of goods. However, there are many problems in the export of manufactured goods in China. Under the double pressure of global economic slowdown, shrinking market demand and domestic economic structure transformation, how to promote the steady growth of export and accelerate the transformation of the development mode of foreign trade through the promotion of structural adjustment, has become an important issue. So it has important practical significance to study the optimization of export structure of manufactured goods.As a typical representative of the technology intensive industrial products, high and new technology products play an important role in the export structure of manufactured goods in China. The size and proportion of the export of high-tech products can measure the optimization of the export structure of manufactured goods. In this paper, we analysis the present situation and the existence questions of export structure of manufactured goods based on objective data based. It is found that the export structure of manufactured goods in China has not reached the optimal level. Then it analyzes the industrial structure, technological progress, human capital, foreign direct investment, exchange rate and other factors to promote the optimization of export structure of manufactured goods in China. On the basis of these, we established VEC model to analysis these factors on the effect of optimization of export structure of manufactured goods in China, find out that foreign direct investment(FDI) has great influence in the short and long term to optimize the export structure of manufactured goods, industrial structure, human capital and technology progress in long-term will play a certain role, the exchange rate(direct quotation) structure of manufactured exports by certain inhibition. Finally, we combined with the theoretical analysis and the results of empirical analysis to put forward the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions to the optimization of China’s export structure of manufactured goods.
