An Analysis About The Effect Factors Of Family Farm Development In Chengdu

As the new type of agricultural management form, family farm is not only based on the household contract responsibility system, but also has a higher development level. Document NO.1 of the central government has played a vital role, which pointed out the direction to the development of family farm. Our country’s industrialization process has been promoted steadily, and both the productivity and urbanization have been improved a lot. Industrialization offers technology element to the agricultural modernization, urbanization transfers more and more rural surplus labor, all of these have created lots of favorable conditions for family farm. At the same time, the demand of urban residents has changed a lot, which tends to be diversification, securing, quality, and spiritual enjoyment. However, more and more farmers have been far from the farmland, who will go in for farming? And who can go in for farming well? Maybe, the two questions should cause us to think deeply about.Chengdu is located in key area of Chengdu plain, which has a good foundation of industrialization and urbanization. In recent years, the conditions of the rural areas and the urban have improved a lot, which is good for the development of family farm. Experience in developed countries show that developing family farm can improve the efficiency of agricultural production, which can be the important way to achieve the agricultural modernization. However, the development level of family farm in Chengdu is on the low side, further exploration of family farm should be performed.Firstly, the paper did some research on the definition of family farm, and then compared the differences between the family farm and the other new business organizations of agriculture. The next, combined with the actual data, the paper analyzed the advantage condition for developing family farm at Chengdu, and concluded the problems. Then, the paper used the factor analysis to analyze the effect factors of family farm in Chengdu. The conclusions showed that, First, land resources factor, the farmer’s quality factor, family farm operation construction factors and farm development’s external factor have significantly effected on family farm. Second, land resources factors include the concentration of land resources, the size of family farm and the price of land resources. It shows a positive correlation between land concentration of resources and the development of family farm, and the same as the price of land resources. On the contrary, it shows a negative correlation between the size of family farm and the development of family farm, but the level of negative correlation is not strong. It showed that the size of family farm should be neither too big nor too small. Third, quality of farmer include the farmer education, and how long the famer engaged in agriculture. Among them, it shows a negative correlation between the farmer’s education and the development of family farm, how long the famer engaged in agriculture has another side. Fourth, family farm operation construction factors include family members, family farm’s planning. Both of them have a positive correlation to the development of family farm. Fifth, farm development external factors include the government subsidies, the level of family farm, and how the government organizations and the other group guide on family farm. Of course, both of them have a positive correlation to the development of family farm. At last, combined with the actual situation of Chengdu, the paper put forward some suggestions.
