China started to play a part in WTO, since then the sales of vehicles increased rapidly, international cooperation started move their plants to China. They brought advanced manufacturing skill and management system into Changchun automobile industry by localization which improved significantly on the overall manufacture capability. At the same time the sales price decreased continuously, which required a high competence in product quality and cost down, only by doing this the cooperation can survive in Chinese automobile market. With the transforming and development of international automobile industry, the more and more automobile suppliers are required to take a part in the customer concept development, which means suppliers need to commit more important responsibility for customer.To ensure a serious, stable, mass production the OEM enhance the quality control on their suppliers and set up a serious of standard to control their development and manufacturing processes. Purchasing Quality as the conductor of all these kind of control approach is going to play an important part in this kind of situation.Bosch Changchun belongs to the Automobile Section of Robert Bosch Group, of which the main business is the development and manufacturing of Automobile Starter and Generator. Bosch Changchun purchasing quality team belongs to Bosch Central Purchasing Department which responsible for Supplier Quality Management.This thesis studies and research on the current status of purchasing quality management processes of Bosch Changchun to find out the problems existed. Through the serious of studies It shows that the Bosch Changchun’s problems are mainly coming from advanced product quality planning of new project and production part approval process, supplier quality complaint management and compensation process. To resolve these problems an optimization on product part approve process is necessary and an improvement on supplier performance assessment system is also needed. Due to this kind of request we work it out by using VSM and workshop successfully to find out the root cause of these problems. to improve these processes. Due to Purchasing quality management department have lots of connections with others, some cases were also analyzed. Root causes of these issues are coming out: first is the process is out of time, which can’t be available for the daily work anymore; second is the responsibilities are not clearly defined in processes; then the capability of purchasing quality management staff also need some enhancement; but the most important is the supplier performance must be improved.A serious of improvement actions have been done based on the root cause and monitoring assist actions were also set up to ensure the improvement actions are effective permanently. An improvement suggestion on purchasing quality structure and task deployment is also raised. Due to a serious of improved actions the purchasing quality management system was established and optimized, which make sure the normal and efficient working of purchasing quality team, some problems like unclear responsibilities in the old processes are also solved from the root cause.
