At present, the state issued the “China manufacturing 2025” action program, proposed a comprehensive plan to promote the construction of our country to lead the development of the world’s manufacturing power.Cell manufacturing is one of the most effective means of production. It is the application of group technology, which can improve the flexibility of production, and can quickly respond market demand of many varieties of small quantities. Cell formation is the first step in the implementation of the cell manufacturing, which is mainly to solve the problem of grouping of parts and process equipment. Cell formation is the key to the successful implementation of the cell manufacturing.As the key technology of the cell formation, the cell grouping number can be used as an independent variable to participate in the optimization. In view of the number of units involved in the cell formation, most of the cases are based on the experience of the experts.So, Aiming at the problem of unit grouping in the cell formation problem,combining with the characteristics of the parts and equipment association matrix,a novel algorithm for dividing the number of units is presented. In the process of forming the cell manufacturing, based on the calculation results of the direct clustering algorithm(DCA),the decision sequence is formed according to the four different expansion paths. Then, the single point mutation of the decision sequence is carried out,and the evaluation index is used as the objective function,and the decision sequence of the algorithm is evaluated.
