Research On Multi-project Management Of XX Shipping Corportation

Under the impact of economic crisis, there has been a continued depression of the international shipping market. From 2014 to the first quarter of 2015,the growth of the world economy has slowed down, resulting in prominent contradictions of geopolitics, low levels of the general international shipping market, constant dropping of the price of staple commodity as well as continuous declination of the international oil price, which directly leads to the continuous declination status of the global completion of ships. In the meanwhile, the amount of the new received orders has certain increase due to speculative orders and policy-type orders, but the profits are very humble. Every shipping factory is facing the challenges of fund shortage and intense competition, which cannot support the recovery of the shipping market effectively. For years to come, the shipping market will take on a new normal of low speed development. Under such severe circumstances, for survival, the shipping corporations must learn advanced technology as well as reform the old management methods, and eliminate many negative factors such as serious waste of fund, tardiness of projects, declination of customer satisfaction, etc.,due to unscientific management methods. Thus, it is imperative for the shipping corporations to carry out scientific management practice, which is also of great urgency.This paper is a research carried out based on the multi-project management of the shipping corporations. Aiming at the subject and the purpose of the research, this paper carries out deep research and analysis by integrating the theory with practice, which is the multi-project management theory and the management practice of XX shipping corporation. Main research methods adopted in this paper are Induction of literature review,qualitative analysis and case analysis method. Firstly this paper is introduction, which mainly describes the background, purpose,meaning and the methods of the research, as well as shows the basic ideas and the general framework of the whole paper, and mainly summarizes the general situation of XX shipping corporation and its internal and external surroundings. Also there are summaries of the present organization structure as well as the current situation of project management, among which much attention is paid to the problems existing in the multi-project management of XX Shipping Building Company.Using the basic principles of project management to adjust the organizational structure and establish PMO(project management office so as to provide better service to multi-project management.The fifth chapter starts with aspects namely multi-project resource management, multi-project planning schedule management as well as risk management to improve the management of the multi-project of XX Shipping Building.
