Manufacturing industry is an important pillar of national economy. As to a semiconductor manufacturing system, it is currently one of the most complex manufacturing systems in the world. Comparing to other manufacturing systems, it has its own significant features. Such as, rich kinds of products, complexity of a process, many steps of the process, serious uncertainness, significant reentry phenomenon and so on. Therefore, in semiconductor manufacturing companies, it is a very important work to make an appropriate production schedule based on a client’s requirements and usable resource. In the author’s company, named S Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, for almost 20 years, a method used for making the production schedule has nearly never been changed, which renders mismatch of the schedule and the real production. There is necessity to find a suitable method, so as to improve and optimize the current method for making the production schedule within the company.In this thesis, considering to problems existing in making production schedule in the company, research and analysis are made based on native or foreign documents on the aspect of making and optimizing production schedules, the useful theories therein are absorbed, and the method for making production schedule suitable for the company is presented.Summary of this thesis:1) To seek for valuable reference by researching and inducing the native and foreign documents on the aspect of making and optimizing the production schedule.2) To illustrate features of semiconductor manufacturing lines and industry, and analyze and induce product features and equipment situation, thereby, to further explain the current method for making production schedule in S company and disadvantages thereof.3) To plan the production schedule under a equipment resource constraint by using the acknowledge with respect to a critical path method used in project management, and reach the object of shortening the whole of delivery period under a level production by combining the section production method.4) To validate with real cases by combining S company’s real product combination and process steps.In the thesis, the problems existing in making the production schedule in the company are analyzed and solved based on the prior research achievement, so as to make more appropriate production schedule, produce levelly, shorten the whole of delivery period, and further to rapidly response the client’s requirements. This means much to improve production efficiency, competition and economic benefits of the company.
