Nowadays, product quality is a base line to survive in the sharp competition in most of business fields. The U company is a key provider of door locker product in auto industry in China. The Thesis focuses on the real project of quality planning and process improvement during the pilot release of new production line in U company.Based on detail analysis on current situation, we created a new process to improve the operator recruitment, team communication and KPI evaluation, which was confirmed getting significant progress in practice.APQP is a guide procedure in TS16949 in automotive industry. When we follow the guide to run the product development, new challenge appears that some key features cannot fully meet customer demands. By the original PDCA cycle in U company, we cannot find the root cause at all. With my suggestion, the new quality methods, such as QFD and DOE, were introduced to quality team. With the new quality tools, we improved the key features. As an example, a DOE case was covered in the thesis which improved the Cpk of riveting process significantly in the new production line.In the last part of the thesis, we confirmed the feasibility of new quality planning method which is a combined solution of employee incentive mechanism, QFD and DOE. It solved the problem of unstable quality during the initial phase on the new project of U company. It could be a good reference for other manufacturing companies in this industry.
