Equipment manufacturing industry has a very important influenceand role in the development of our society and national economy. As animportant force in promoting economic growth and a strong pillar support ourcountry’s economic development. It has become the strategic foundationindustry promoting and improving our country international competitivestrength. Its level of development fully reflects the competition strength and thecomprehensive national power. In the process of rapid economic development,the independent innovation ability has become the hub and an inexhaustiblemotive force to enhance the competitiveness of enterprises and promoteenterprise sustainable development. It ensures the realization of innovation typenational development objectives smoothly. Therefore, in order to ensure theprocess of national economic development can be effectively carried out fasterand better, enterprises need to pay attention to the independent innovation in theenterprise development.Enhancing the level of the revitalization of equipment manufacturingindustry is not only conducive to significantly increase of departments ofindustrial economic growth and the contribution of GDP, but also help toimprove market competitiveness and technological level of other industriesdevelopment, and conducive to upgrade and adjust economic structure, realizethe goal of sustainable development of the national economy. With goodtechnical and material foundation, the equipment manufacturing industry ofShanxi province has been formed the fifth pillars of the industry after theindustrial structure dominated by coal, coking, metallurgy, electric power.Therefore, the research of Shanxi province equipment manufacturing industryindependent innovation ability has special practical significance to promote the level of equipment manufacturing industry, transform economic developmentmode and adjust industrial structure of Shanxi province. Based on the relevanttheories of independent innovation and the factors to influence the equipmentmanufacturing independent innovation capability, evaluate the independentinnovation ability of Shanxi province equipment manufacturing industry fromthe horizontal and vertical angles. Hope to provide suggestions on thedevelopment of manufacturing equipment, so as to promote the development ofthe overall economy in Shanxi Province. The concrete research contents are asfollows:(1) Describe the research background and significance, introduced themain research contents of the thesis and method, the domestic and foreignresearch status and related basic theories are reviewed.(2) Introduces the development of the equipment manufacturing industryof Shanxi Province, analysis the present situation of equipment manufacturingindustry independent innovation ability. Analysis the factors influencing thecapability of independent innovation, constructing the evaluation index systemof the equipment manufacturing industry independent innovation ability, clearthe function of evaluation index system and selection principles of index,construct the evaluation model of equipment manufacturing independentinnovation capability.(3) From the horizontal and vertical aspects carries on the appraisal to theShanxi province equipment manufacturing industry independent innovationability. Before the evaluation, explain the selection of sample and data briefly,the evaluation process is divided into two layers, evaluates first level indicatorsfirstly, then evaluate the equipment manufacturing industry independentinnovation ability overall the by colligating the first level indicators. Throughcomparative study of different regions’ equipment manufacturing industryindependent innovation ability in the same period of time, to measure the levelof development of Shanxi Province in the contrast within other province and find development advantages of higher level area. Finally, on thebasis of understanding the development trend and the comparison situationwithin the scope of other provinces, this paper proposes suggestions to enhanceShanxi province equipment manufacturing industry independent innovationability.
