Coal is an important strategic resource and an indispensable energy to promote social and economic development of our country, and it will occupy an irreplaceable position in China’s primary energy structure. Logistics network system is a complex and dynamic system, is composed of a multiple interconnected, interdependent and interactional segments. Compared with the general logistics network, coal logistics network has the characteristics of bulk cargo transportation, more logistics nodes, longer logistics route, more logistics links etc.. Through reasonably select the coal logistics nodes, transport lines and coal suppliers to plan and design the coal logistics network is the key to reduce logistics cost, especially cost of coal procurement. Therefore, research on coal purchase and supply logistics network optimization has important significance.Firstly, on the basis of current research situation of home and abroad, this paper proposed research problem, and built the research content and frame. Secondly, this paper reviewed the related theories and methods of logistics network and coal logistics network, and laid the theoretical foundation for this paper. Thirdly, this paper detailed analyzed coal purchase and supply logistics network optimization problems, and proposed optimization goals and content; Comprehensive considering the location of downstream coal users, transport distance, construction cost and coal processing cost of the logistics base etc., built coal supply logistics network optimization model based on logistics base location; Considering the purchase cost of coal, transportation cost, comprehensive transit cost and the service quality of coal supplier etc., built coal purchase logistics network optimization model based on supplier selection; Design appropriate genetic algorithm based on the character of established model. Finally, applied the established coal supply logistics network optimization model and coal supply logistics network optimization model to empirical research in coal logistics base of North Henan, and obtained the best location of North Henan coal logistics base and the procurement scheme of three types coal (power coal, coking coal and chemical coal) through designed genetic algorithm, provide decision-making basis for the location and construction of North Henan coal logistics base and the coal purchase scheme after the opening of central and southern Shanxi railway.
