The effectuation theory was proposed by Professor Sarasvathy, it is a kind of new theory in the field of entrepreneurship research. Since it was put forward, the theory had received much attention from entrepreneurship scholars around the world. How to make decisions in a highly dynamic and nonlinear environment have always been the research focus in the field of entrepreneurship, effectuation theory is perfect for solving this problem. The effectuation theory based on limited rationality hypothesis which proposed by Professor Simon, It reveals how entrepreneurs to overcome their limited rationality and achieved success through effectuation logic.In this paper, we first explain the background and main idea of the effectuation theory, and we compare the different of the effectuation logic and the traditional caution theory. We compare these two decision logic on four dimensions:The starting point of entrepreneurial action; Attitude to the competitors; how to see the future and Identification of opportunities. And we use multiple regression model to further research on how entrepreneurial past experience (including large enterprise management experiences, small business management experience, entrepreneurial experience), career motivation (including linear career motivation, expert career motivation, Spiral career motivation and short career motivation), social resources, innovation and entrepreneurial skills to influence logical or causal logic decision theory for entrepreneurs, and analyzed the results of empirical analysis. Finally, discuss the contribution of the effectuation theory, and the limitations of the present study and propose Suggestions on the future research direction.
