Antendency Of Effectuation Decision-making

The decision-making of traditional economic and management theory is oriented by goal, which plays role in the cases that the results of related decision-making can be determined or predicted. However, in entrepreneurial situations, with a typical Knight uncertainty environment, goal-oriented decision-making can not guide entrepreneurs’ behavior well. Classic economic and management theory also has difficulties in explaining decision-making behavior of entrepreneurs. In this context, Professor Sarasvathy based on previous studies, and put forward effectuation theory which can apply better to entrepreneurs to solve real business process of the problems.In this paper, with the research review of effectuation and related theory, we build the theory model of antecedent of effectuation, and use 321 new entrepreneurs sample data of the first two rounds of survey of China’s entrepreneurial dynamic tracking projects (CPSED). Through factor analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis, we have the following conclusions:(1) Means-oriented dimension has obviously affected by opportunity discovery patterns,the newness of opportunity and environmental uncertainties. People who discovery opportunity by chance.find higher newness of opportunity or face high uncertain are more likely to take means-oriented way to make decisions. (2)Affordable loss dimension significantly affected by environmental uncertainties, the higher the environmental uncertainty, entrepreneurs tender to use the affordable loss principle to make decisions, and opportunity discovery patterns and the newness of opportunity does not affect obvious. (3) The effect of cooperation dimension by way of opportunity recognition, innovation and opportunity to influence environmental uncertainty is not obvious. (4) Taking advantage of accidents dimensions significantly affected by opportunity recognition, and environmental uncertainties, and affected innovative opportunity is not obvious. Accidental discovery of entrepreneurial opportunity entrepreneurs and perception to the entrepreneurial environment uncertainty of entrepreneurs are more likely to take use of accident principle for business. This study on the one hand enrich the entrepreneurial opportunity to study the effect of entrepreneurial decision-making logic, and verify the presence of the Chinese context effect logic theory, provide more clues for future research; on the other hand can help guide entrepreneurs the opportunity to decision-making, improve entrepreneurs to create new businesses success rate and provides an entry point for government support entrepreneurial activity.
