| With the rapid development of economic industry in Hainan, tourism is playing a more and more important role in the process of Hainan’s urbanization. As it’s a critical period for building Hainan international tourism destination, the efficiency and effectiveness of tourism urbanization will affect its construction directly. More specially, the key factor of tourism urbanization depends on the adopted development model. Therefore, this paper does research on Hainan tourism urbanization from the perspective of their development models. According to the time of tourism urbanization in Hainan, it can be divided into three stages: budding stage (1988-1998), growth stage (1999-2009) and transformation stage (2010-now). This study draws three conclusions by doing research on their development models.Firstly, this paper studies tourism urbanization from three patterns, including driving force, subject and operation model. We find that in the budding stage, tourism urbanization is driven by location, government and resources. However, in the growth stage, it’s mainly driven by industry, market and chain value. Now in the transformation stage, tourism urbanization is mainly driven by innovation, enterprise community, and thematic products.Secondly, by analyzing resources, environment, power, industrial, space and management related to tourism urbanization in Hainan, this study points out the side-effects of this process, including deterioration of environment, wasting of resources, lacking of development motivation, management confusion and so on.Thirdly, based on the theory of urban optimization and related problems of tourism urbanization in Hainan, we carry out a systematic optimization program. Finally, this study puts forward a series of proper suggestions to deal with the above problems. These suggestions are reasonable and environmental friendly development, balanced development among regions, emphasis on competitive industries, and improvement on management. |
