Compared with domestic tourism and outbound tourism, inbound tourism has made more outstanding contributions to improving the competitiveness of international tourism, promoting economic and social development and strengthening foreign exchanges.Under the macro background of socialism with Chinese characteristics entering a new era,the construction of new urbanization has achieved remarkable results, and the prospects of inbound tourism are broad. Both of them will achieve greater development. Therefore, the relationship between new-type urbanization and inbound tourism has gradually become a research hotspot.Although there are few studies on the effect of new-type urbanization on inbound tourism, the results are different: some scholars believe that new-type urbanization will have a positive effect on inbound tourism, some scholars believe that there is no significant positive effect, and some scholars find new-type urbanization will have a negative impact on inbound tourism.Specifically to Yunnan,a large province of inbound tourism, what is the impact of new urbanization on inbound tourism? This has become the main problem of this paper. The purpose of this paper is to study the effect of new urbanization on the development of inbound tourism in Yunnan Province. After summarizing the development of new urbanization and inbound tourism in Yunnan Province in recent five years, this paper selects the time series data from 2005 to 2016,uses range standardization method and entropy method to process data, constructs an index system including three subsystems of new urbanization and two subsystems of inbound tourism, and carries out descriptive statistical analysis and time series stability test, the impact of the three subsystems of new urbanization on the two subsystems of inbound tourism is studied by using co-integration model, error correction model,Granger causality model, impulse response function and variance decomposition analysis. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)There is a long-term stable equilibrium relationship between Yunnan's inbound tourism and new urbanization. On the whole, the positive effect of Yunnan's new urbanization on the scale of inbound tourism is greater than the positive effect on the benefit of inbound tourism. As far as the scale of inbound tourism is concerned, population urbanization has the greatest positive effect on it;as far as the benefit of inbound tourism is concerned, economic urbanization has the greatest positive effect on it.(2)Yunnan's new urbanization shows a negative correction mechanism for the short-term deviation from the long-term equilibrium of inbound tourism,in which the short-term negative correction of economic urbanization is the strongest.(3)There is Granger causality between new urbanization and inbound tourism in Yunnan. The results show that there is a two-way Granger causality between the scale of inbound tourism and population urbanization and social urbanization respectively;population urbanization, economic Urbanization and social urbanization are the one-way Granger causes of inbound tourism benefits.(4)The impact of Yunnan inbound tourism on new urbanization has both positive and negative responses. The results show that the scale of inbound tourism responds positively to the impact of new urbanization, and the efficiency of inbound tourism responds positively and negatively to the impact of new urbanization.(5)Yunnan inbound tourism will be affected by the fluctuation of new urbanization. It shows that the scale of inbound tourism is greatly affected by the fluctuation of new urbanization, and the benefit of inbound tourism is mainly affected by its own fluctuation.(6)According to the results of empirical research, this paper puts forward the Countermeasures for Yunnan to develop inbound tourism relying on new urbanization and further promote the development of inbound tourism in Yunnan.
