In the Dec. of2007, STX Dalian group was founded rapidly, with the heat wave in the new century in shipbuilding industry. But in beginning of2013,STX DL Group began to stop full production. STX is the world’s fourth largest shipbuilding enterprise, has the top equipments, and the South Korean headquarters master the first-class shipbuilding technology, but STX DL Group can not apply these techniques to the work. The causes of stopping production are many and complex, one of the important reasons is the lack of talent who can apply the technical skill to quality working.This paper analysis the company’s recruitment process and the problems of recruitment strategy, position level, salary incentive policy, staff development mechanism, talent market supply and so on, to illustrate the importance of recruitment strategy for the competition and development of enterprises.The paper firstly introduce the general situations of the STX Dalian Group, presenting the recruitment process of the group, then analyze the causes of these problems, give the solution combining the theory, finally combining with the practice, this paper gives solutions to STX Dalian Group. The research show that, the most important cause is short of skilled workers, especially short of high-end technical talent to guide and control production, resulting substandard quality in the production, time limit for a project is not on time, low levels of technology. This paper suggests the company actively improve recruitment strategy, on the way of recruiting, increasing the way of internal recruitment, on the side of interview, taking advantage of interview assessment tools, on the side of retaining talents, to meet the demand of employee retention and to increase incentives to reduce the turnover rate, and saving the cost of hiring, to make the recruitment strategy in the service of the group’s business strategy, so as to make the enterprise to win the competitive advantage in the same industry.STX Dalian Group is a wholly foreign-owned and the largest enterprise in the Northeast, its employing strategy recruitment strategy will influence not only the general direction of northeast manufacturing industry but also the whole shipbuilding industry. To analysis STX Dalian Group’s recruitment process problems, and discuss how to solve a series of problems, can give guidance to STX DL Group that restart working. At the same time, these strategies can also be used for other shipbuilding enterprises in the area, and give references to similar foreign enterprises.
