| High-tech industry is a significantforce in economic and social development, which is an important index to measure the economic competitiveness, science and technology power of a country or a region.After years of development, High-tech industry areas of central China has get remarkable achievements in changing the way of promoting economic growth, optimizing the industrial structure, but there is still a large gap when compared with the developed eastern region. In order to better develop high-tech industries, clarify its future development direction and strategic priorities, it is necessary to evaluate the central region of high-tech industrial competitiveness, analyze its gap with the developed regions to identify their own problems, and promote the central regional economic rise.This paper basis for theory about High-Tech industry and its competitiveness, according to the current situation and realistic characteristics of central China, based on panel data from2004to2012. A combination of static and dynamic evaluation and analysis is conducted on High-Tech industry and its competitiveness in central China using factor analysis and clustering analysis. On the basis of empirical results and development experiences at home and abroad, countermeasures in order to promote its industrial competitiveness are raised. Thus, references on further development of high-tech industries enhance the competitiveness of high-tech industries are put forward.The results show that in general, high-tech industrial development of the central region better, each index increased rapidly, but the gap with the developed areas of the country is still big. From the empirical analysis, during2004-2012, the central region of high-tech industrial competitiveness both in industrial investment, industrial output, industrial technology innovation or industrial development potential of competitiveness are in a steady rising trend, and growing faster, but still below the national average, and in the country’s leading position in the eastern region, the gap is still large. Hubei comprehensive competitiveness of high-tech industry development is good; the competitiveness level is constantly improving, the development is very fast, owning a larger development space and potential. Henan’s high-tech industry competitiveness is following Hubei province. Mainly due to strong competition in its outputwhich pushed up its level. Anhui high-tech industry after years of development has now entered a period of rapid growth. Level of high-tech industrial competitiveness development Hunan and Jiangxi is not stable, where the level of Hunan high-tech industrial competitiveness slightly stronger than Jiangxi. Shanxi both in the investment industry, production, technological innovation and development potential of competitiveness are close to the lowest level in the country, the high-tech industry overall competitiveness level is still very low. |
