With continuous development of construction industry, China’ s construction ofengineering project becomes increasingly upsizing, complicated and diversified. Theengineering construction industry has obtained considerable development achievement;however it is also exposed to numerous tough development problems. The low productionefficiency, serious waste of resource, and the value as a whole is on the low side in theindustry, these problems have always been restricting the sustainable development ofconstruction industry. It is common occurance to see the phenomenon of more engineeringchange notice, delayed construction period, cost overrun, inferior quality and even securityincidents during the project implementation process. The root cause engendering aboveproblems is large number of participants in the engineering projects, mutual separation in theconstruction process, each party failing to establish a unified information sharing platformbetween each other. Lack of communication and exchange leads to massive loss of valuableinformation resources.Construction supply chain management model is the embodiment of the supply chainmanagement idea on the application in the construction industry. Effective control andmanagement is conducted for the information flow, logistics and capital flow among theparticipants by means of advanced information technology, thus realizing the integrateddelivery of the engineering projects.For BIM technology with prominent advantages on theaspect of information management, it is a summarized reformed information technologybased on theoretical research and engineering practice by the engineering sector. Construction supply chain management model must control and coordinate effectively theinformation flow through integrated management to efficiently realize integrated delivery ofthe engineering project. The occurance of BIM meets the demand for construction supplychain information integrated management, enhances professional communication andreduces waste of information resources.Based on construction supply chain management theory and introduction on the basicconnotation of BIM, this thesis firstly elaborates the existing information managementproblems when construction enterprises implement supply chain management model, makesanalysis of the conjunction point between construction supply chain information managementand BIM and demonstrates the feasibility of the application of BIM in the constructionsupply chain information integrated management mode. Secondly, this thesis builds aconstruction supply chain information integrated management mode based on BIM, makesdetailed analysis of the composition of the mode from three angles of informationalintegration, standardization and interaction and points out that the realization of this modeneeds to solve core problems,like cooperative work, technological tool and informationsafety etc. Finally, based on the discussion on operation platform of the mode, this thesismakes analysis of the mode operation on the aspects of integration of design and construction,integration of procurement and supply and coordination of delivery and operation from theangle of information utilization, provides the different value of the mode operation on thelevel of construction industry, construction enterprise and engineering projects. It regardsthat the application of BIM in the engineering construction needs the support of advancedconstruction and management technology, such as IPD, lean Construction and so on.Combining the current situation, it also discusses the supporting environment construction ofBIM application.
