Since the90s of the20th century, corporate social responsibility has been widelyrecognized and supported; it becomes part of core competitiveness of enterprises. Currentlythe studies of theory over CSR and competitiveness have turned from whether CSR impactcompetitiveness to how to impact. Compared to the other industries, the chemical industry isa heavy pollution industries, it should undertake more corporate responsibilities. In this paper,we combine theory with empirical evidence to analyze how corporate social responsibilityimpact on the competitiveness of the China’s listed chemical industry.At the beginning of the paper, it looks back on the related theories of stakeholder,corporate social responsibility and enterprise competitiveness, and gives clear definitions ofthem. Then a detailed literature review concerning the impact of corporate social responsibilityon enterprise competitiveness is offered, which was proposed by experts home a nd abroad.Second, according to the importance of the stakeholders to hierarchical social responsibility,and then analyze the impact mechanism of corporate social responsibility on enterprisecompetitiveness. In the following, analyzing the impact of the different dimension of corporatesocial responsibility on enterprise competitiveness on the basis of listed chemical companiesfrom the perspective of empirical research. Finally, collecting the data of listed chemicalcompanies during2010to2012, then using descriptive statistical analysis, correlation analysisand regression analysis to validate the model and the assumptions. The results shows that, theresponsibility of shareholders, employees, consumers, creditors and government have significant positive correlation to competitiveness, suppliers, environment and public have nosignificantly positive correlation to competitiveness. At the end of the paper, a counter-plan isproposed according to the empirical results.
