Research About The Influence That Social Network Relational Embeddedness On Technological Innovation Ability—Take Information Technology Enterprises In Zhejiang Province For Example

With the increasing technology competition, the progress of enterprise technology innovation is more and more dependent on knowledge, information and other resources in external social network. The enterprise social network embeddedness becomes more and more important. In addition to use existing knowledge and ability, enterprises also need innovation elements form the social network while they want to obtain technical progress. Therefore, they can update and develop their ability of technology innovation. The existing researches are mostly concerned about the relevance and impacts between social network and technological innovation while technological innovation is in a static stage. There are few studies on their mechanism and we can’t find any studies that compare the influence about different stages of technology innovation. Therefore, research about the different influence that social network embeddedness on technology innovation ability while technology innovation in different stages, has the important theory value and practical significance.This article studied the influence of social network relational embeddedness on technology innovation ability. We built a structural equation model of the mechanism between relational embeddedness and technological innovation capability. We proposed that knowledge absorption&transformation, technical exchanges&cooperation and external innovation resources support are three intermediate variables between them. Based on the perspective of different technological innovation stages, we analyzed the difference of relational embeddedness’s influence. At the same time, we conducted a survey on the dynamic relationship between enterprise social network and technology innovation, and formed an overall and perfect view of their relationships.The results show that:social network relational embeddedness can promotes the knowledge absorption&transformation, technical exchanges&cooperation and external innovation resources support. It finally exerts significant positive impacts on the improvement of technology innovation capacity. While enterprises are in different technology innovation stages, social network relational embeddedness may have different influence on their technological innovation ability. Finally, this article presented relevant proposals on the enterprise technology innovation and pointed out the future research direction.
