Based On The Enterprise Life Cycle Theory, Research On The BHP Company’s Periodic Crises And Strategic Countermeasures

Any enterprise has the inherent impulse of growth and development. In the process of development, an enterprise will go through several stages and face different crisis of the particular stage. The adaptability of particular stage will directly affect the enterprise management effect and target. The Greiner Enterprises Growth Model, as an enterprise growth theory, especially unveils the law of enterprise growth, which has a joint with the crisis of each growth stage. Based on the study of the law of growth enterprises, we can select specific organizational structure specific or take different strategic behavior, which can help the organization go through the crisis. The dialectical relationship between the evolution and change is focused on in this study.The development mode is analyzed by taking BHP Paper Company as a case, which provides some advice for enterprise go through the crisis of each stage in the process of development.Firstly, this paper reviews the enterprise growth theory and empirical research.Through the analysis of relevant literature, this paper presents the research progress of enterprise growth theories, and focuses on the Greiner Enterprise Growth Model.Based on the review, the definitions of related concepts are clarified and a theoretical foundation is laid. Secondly, the growth characteristics of enterprise growth stages are analyzed based on enterprise growth theory. Moreover, the evolutionary characteristics of enterprise life cycle of different stages and patterns are discussed.Based on the theory analysis above mentioned, the different environment problems and development problems of each growth stage are also discussed by taking BHP Paper Company as a case. Through the analysis of the existing problems of BHP, it is pointed out that the lack of targeted response for each stage problem is contributed to the existing crisis of the company. Therefore, the targeted recommendations are proposed for innovative organization. Furthermore, the crisis prevention principle for BHP Paper Company is analyzed systematically based on the Greiner life cycle theory,and the crisis early warning management is also discussed.Finally, the management countermeasures in each stage of the life cycle of BHP Company are discussed in this paper, and the relationship between entrepreneurs and enterprises growth stage is also noticed.
